Luck is the multiplier the egg gives to the hatch roll. Hatch time is how long it needs in a nest. Weight is explained below.
#Spawn tiers
Every spawn point in Workspace.RidePetEggSpawns carries a Tier attribute and the tag RidePetEggSpawn:
| Tier | Where | Eggs that can appear |
|---|---|---|
| Near | Just outside the ring of plots | White, Brown, Cracked, Easter |
| Mid | Further out in the forest | Stone, Leaf, Mushroom, Flower, Slime, Ice |
| Far | The far edges of the main island | Glass, Golden, Mythic 90K, Crystal, Skull, Mythic 500K, Dominus, Flaming |
| Elite | High places: the giant spiral tree, the ancient and autumn giant trees, lone spire, the two arches, crags and peaks | Sinister, Soul, Aurora, Galaxy, Black Hole, Solaris, Cherub |
| Island | The volcano island: crater, high ledges, the pyramid, fossil ribs and five outer isles | Only eggs with at least 300M luck |
Near spots are placed on flat ground outside the plots, Mid and Far further away, and the Elite and Island spots are on the highest flat surfaces of the landmarks. No spot is placed inside or close to a plot.
#How a map roll works
At server start and every 7 minutes (Catalog.MapEggRefreshSeconds) rollMap:
- removes every egg nobody picked up,
- for each tier picks how many eggs of each kind to place (
Catalog.EggMapCounts, a random number between the two values), - puts each egg on a random spot of its tier.
The roll is random, so the same kind is rarely in the same place twice.
#Black Hole, Solaris and Cherub
At most one of these three lies on the map at a time, and there is always exactly one (Catalog.EggTopGroupChance = 1). Which one is decided by weights: Black Hole 60 %, Solaris 30 %, Cherub 10 % (Catalog.EggTopGroupWeights).
#The volcano island
Eggs with at least 300M luck (Aurora, Galaxy and the top three) go to the volcano island with a 65 % chance each (Catalog.EggIslandChance); otherwise they use the regular Elite spots.
#Weight and size
Every map egg rolls a weight between 0.6× and 1.8× of its kind's typical weight, leaning towards the heavier side (more strongly for common eggs). A heavy egg is drawn bigger: the size multiplier is (weight ÷ typical weight)^0.7, between 0.5× and 2×. The weight travels with the egg through carrying, dropping, the inventory and the nest and is saved on the pet as a ratio that scales its speed.
Base sizes grow with rarity: the models run from about 1.3 studs tall (White) to about 8 (Cherub), and every egg in the world is drawn Catalog.EggScale (1.3×) bigger than its model.
#Looking at an egg
When you come within 32 studs of an egg it gets a white outline and its luck appears under it. Every egg glows in the colour of its rarity and gives off sparkles, so rare eggs are easy to spot from far away.
#Radars
Radars are sold at the Gears stall (see Upgrades & Stalls). A radar is an item you carry; when you hold it, the Use Radar button appears in the HUD. Pressing it picks one random egg of the radar's rarity that is lying on the map and marks it with a distance label for 5 minutes. You cannot start a second radar while one is working. When the time runs out, or the egg is taken by someone, the radar is removed from your inventory. If there is no egg of that rarity on the map, the radar is removed at once.
