#Plots & the Core Loop
#Plots
There are six plots, Workspace.Base1 … Base6, arranged in a ring around the central hub with the stalls. Each base has:
Region— the invisible zone that counts as "inside the base",Spawn— where the owner respawns,- a name plate over the base (the house icon and the owner's display name),
- the Hatch Luck sign in front of it.
When a player joins, Gameplay gives them the first free plot (assignPlot), writes Plot on the player and Owner on the base, names the plate and moves them to the plot's spawn. When they leave the plot is released and the plate is cleared. The house icon over a base is drawn on top of walls and trees, so you can always find your ranch.
A Plot button in the HUD teleports you back to your plot when you are more than about 70 studs away from it.
#The loop a player repeats
- Find an egg. Eggs stand on the ground across the map. Walk up to one — it gets a white outline and its luck shows under it.
- Pick it up (prompt). You hold it over your head with both arms up and a countdown starts in the HUD.
- Bring it home. Entering your base banks the egg in your inventory. If the timer hits zero the egg breaks. You can Drop it with the HUD button; it keeps its remaining time.
- Place it. Hold the egg in your hand and click the ground inside your base — it lands exactly where you clicked (see below).
- Wait and hatch. When the hatch time is over the egg shows Ready; hold E for half a second.
- Use the pet. It arrives in your inventory, is added to the Index and can be placed on the ranch or ridden.
#Placing an egg
The egg is put at the point under your cursor, as long as that point:
- is inside your own base and at least a fence-gap away from the fence,
- is within 55 studs of you,
- is not too close to another placed egg,
- has free ground (no fence, sign or tree in the way).
If something is wrong you get a short message ("Place the egg inside your base, away from the fence.", "That spot is too far away.", "Too close to another egg."). On touch devices the egg goes to the middle of the screen.
You can have 2 nests plus one per rebirth at a time.
#Carry timer
The farther an egg lay from your base, the longer it survives. When you pick an egg up the server computes:
seconds = clamp( distance × 1.3 / max(16, egg speed) + 8, 20, 300 )
where distance is measured from the egg's spawn point to your plot's spawn and egg speed is the speed the egg is balanced around (from 16 for White up to 300 for Cherub). The result is stored with the egg, so dropping and picking it up again never resets it. Rare eggs far from home therefore leave very little time unless you ride a fast pet.
#Hatching
Hatching is a ceremony played for everyone near: three shakes, the egg swells, turns white and bursts, the pet hangs over the nest for two seconds and then flies to its owner. The pet's kind is rolled when the egg is hatched:
- every pet in the catalog that has a model is checked from the rarest down; a pet drops if
random < min(0.75, egg luck × your Hatch Luck ÷ the pet's odds), - if nothing rolls, you get the most common pet,
- there is a separate chance for a mutation: Gold 10 %, Diamond 1 %, Rainbow 0.1 % (see Pets, Income & Age).
An egg remembers how heavy it was; the pet keeps that ratio and gets faster or slower because of it.
