#Adding a Stage Hazard
Rising traps, vanishing platforms, and closing walls are plain Scripts living directly on (or next to)
the geometry they animate in Workspace — not services, no Bootstrap registration needed. The fastest way to
add a new one is to copy the pattern of an existing hazard closest to what you want:
- Rises from the floor and retracts → copy
Workspace["New Map"].Stage9_Filler.RisingTrap's pattern - Fades in/out on a timer → copy
Workspace["New Map"].Stage7Bridge.VanishingBridge's pattern - Two parts sliding toward/away from each other → copy
Workspace["New Map"].Stage10WallCrusher's pattern
All three share the same defensive habit worth keeping if you write a new one: wait for the part's CFrame
to stop changing for a handful of frames before capturing its resting position, since a bare Script in
Workspace can start running before the map-building service finishes positioning things.
See Stage Hazards for how the shipped hazards behave, and Tuning Difficulty if you want your new hazard to scale with a stage's recommended level the way the Stage 10 walls do.
